The Biggest Loser

I have watched The Biggest Loser since the fifth or six season (usually while eating ice cream or something equally against the rules!).  The show has always been interesting to me in that it gives the idea that it is helping these people with the undertones of 'you couldn't do it without us and you should be bloody grateful.'  Not the kind of vibe that I like.
That isn't to say that I haven't secretly wished I could be ON the show (sort of) (maybe) and lose all the weight that I need to in a few months-- but the realistic me knows that I would NEVER get up on a scale in a sports bra ON TV!  Not is a million flippin' years!!!   I was still glued to the TV watching all this.
I have always known that it is not healthy to lose weight as fast as the participants on the show but it is normal, I think, to applaud them at their success and HAPPINESS when they step on the scale and it is shown that they have lost 10, 15 or 20 pounds in a week.  Most every diet 'expert' will say that losing 1-3 pounds a week is a good, safe amount to lose.  So what happens to the body when a person sheds 20-30 pounds in a week?  And then another 20 pounds the next week?
I read what Kai Hibbard had to say about being on the show (Season 3, one that I never watched!) and it is a real eye-opener.
Check it out here !!!!
I take most things that I read with a bit of skepticism but what she says really doesn't surprise me when I really thought about it.
But it is sad.
Reality TV isn't reality at all-- anyone can see that when watching any number of  reality TV shows. Boring stuff doesn't make for good TV.  If they have to film a 'surprise' scene 5 times, it isn't real anymore.
And the editing?
I often wondered if the whiny, mean people were really whiny and mean or just edited to look that way.  A lot of conversations/situations can be made to look/seem/sound different if the whole thing isn't revealed.
I am not sure if I will keep watching the show.
Thoughts?

No weight loss here the past couple weeks!  Again discouraging.
I am wondering if I should do something a bit more drastic- even for a kick-start.  Like a raw diet or something along those lines.  I am happy with my exercise routine for the last few months so I am good there!
Thanks for reading.

    This is me:

An almost 50 gal who wants to get healthy and lose weight so I can live longer without hobbling around on artificial knees or sitting in a scooter with my ass-fat hanging on either side of the seat, yelling at people to get out of my way as I cruise down the cookie aisle!!
