But
This time I am determined to prevail with no quitting.
I am on a mission!
This is where, in the past, I would just give up. No weight loss in a week even though I have been following my diet. I have been exercising!
But This time I am determined to prevail with no quitting. I am on a mission!

Today is DAY 13 of my low carb diet. Trying to do Keto for the past 5 days. This is my first video in over two years. I have gained more weight than when I started last time. That seems to be my pattern. That just shows me that this is not a 'diet' but a lifestyle change. My health is too important to not do this! Here's to new beginnings! A new start. Isn't that always the way?
I always commit and then lapse. I am not sure why. But it is a journey, not a destination. A process, not an ending. So I will try again. And hope again. Any results that I see will move me forward because that is all that I can do, in life and in my health journey: move forward. But this time, I am trying something different. I am doing the Keto Diet. Today, Tuesday is Day 12. The first week, I just lowered the carbohydrates that I ate. And I did well. Considering I LOVE carbs, I didn’t and still don’t have many carb cravings- which makes everything so much easier!! The past five days, I have followed the basics of the Keto Diet. Not too hard. That thought is the first point of my last post I can do anything that I put my mind to. Is so true!! I just have to remember it!!! And live it! Here’s to a new start. Again. And heavier than when I started last time!! Onward. (There are so many on-line resources that describe the Keto diet. I knew a lot about it but am learning more this week as I read and read!) Things I Have Learned After Years and Years of Dieting
*I can do anything that I put my mind to. *I will never be skinny and that is okay. *I want to be healthy. *Fast food is of the devil. *I NEED to have a scale with me FOREVER. It is so easy for me to let things get out of hand. *With every diet start and stop, when I start again, I am 20 pounds heavier than when I stopped dieting. *I do NOT need to eat “just a little bit” because someone made/bought me cake/pie/chips/dessert/a meal. *One cheat day or item is okay for me but if that cheat day goes over into the next day, then it would be so easy for it to become a habit. And all would be lost. Again. How many 'diets' are there?
What about weight loss programs? Self-help ones, on-line ones? How many exercise programs? Exercise Equipment? HOW in the world does a person choose what is best from all the endless supply of information?? There seems to be a zillion diets and doctors telling us what we should do, what we should eat, how we should exercise. There are thousands of informercials for Equipment that promise to tighten and tone, shed and sculpt. Gyms Weight Watchers has been around forever, it seems. Then there is JennyCraig, Nutrisystem, SlimFast, SparkSolutionDiet, RawFoodDiet,The Flexitarian Diet, The Volumetrics Diet, South Beach Diet, The Mediterranean Diet, The Paleolithic Diet, The Atkins Diet, The EcoAtkins Diet, ZoneDiet, The Body ReSet Diet, The Best Life Diet, Whole30 Diet, The Scarsdale Diet, the HMR Program, TLC Diet, The Engine2 Diet, The MayoClinicDiet, The Glycemic-Index Diet, TheGrapefruit Diet, the CabbageSoup Diet, The Macrobiotic Diet, The Beverly Hills Diet. on and on and on........ SERIOUSLY, people!!!!!! Infomercials?? Beachbody has a variety of fitness programs: Beachbody® On Demand, 21DayFix, 21DayFixExtreme, 22MinuteHardCorps, BodyBeast, Cize, Hammer&Chisel, PiYo, FocusT25, P90, P90X, P90X3, 10MinuteTrainer, BrazilButtLift, SlimIn6, TaiCheng, as well as the no-longer sold on BeachBody: Michael Thurmond's 6WeekBodyMakeover (which has now been replaced by the Food Lovers Fat Loss System) and Chalene Johnson's TurboJam (Chalene has at least 6 different exercise series available on video- TurboKick, PiYo, TurboJam, ChaLEAN Extreme, TurboFire, and PiYo Workout. I am not sure how different that last one is from the original PiYo is?) Then there is 30DayShred, HibHopAbs, Rockin' Body, Insanity (the last three by Shaun T - along with FocusT25 and his newest one: Cize) Richard Simmons!! On-line: Jillian Michaels, The Biggest Loser. I sure there are more!!!! What about exercise equipment sold on-line? NordicTrack, the various incarnations of Bowflex, Soloflex, GazelleGlider, AbCirclePro, AbGlider, AbRocket, BodyJac, ShakeWeight, Malibu Pilates Chair, LegMagic,TheOrbitrekElite, ThighMaster, TheTotalTiger and on and on and on......... Nothing works if you don't stick to it. That is one thing. Not everything would work for everyone- that is something else. SOOOOoo...... Has anyone actually TRIED any of these? Personally, I have tried Acai Berry, TurboJam and 6WeekBodyMakeover. I am sure that 6WeekBodyMakeover would have worked if I had stuck to it. TheTurboJam exercises were too hard for me. Oh, I also have done the Jillian Michaels on-line one quite a while ago- the exercises were too hard again. As for diets, I have tried TheScarsdaleDiet, CabbageSoupDiet, and SlimFast. I find the Don'tEatLikeAHorseDiet the best one of all. What have you tried!!?? Anyone!? |
